Whether it is felt or expierenced is IMO down to personal perception, but how come there is no equivalent for Schadenfreude* in English?

* literally translated, laughing at someone else's expense, the most universal type of humour

Because English is una lenguaje débil with un piccolo vocabolario and has to emprunter aux other languages in order verständlich zu werden?

Or, could it be because German language structure allows for the combining of words into compound words, whereas English keeps the words separate, therefore schadenfreude is literally schaden freude, with the space omitted due to the peculiarities of the language?
