Bizarre content is one thing that alerts me to something potentially being malware. a.k.a. not something I think "real" advertising vendors would approve.

I would've asked a similar question had the ad been of,

give us your book and we'll critique it for free like an experienced headmistress
take a million dollars and we'll publish your book as our own child
click here and find, in your area, a hot one night stand who was once a head cheer leader
buy our golden ring and change your destiny, be your own boss.
congratulations! you've been chosen as lucky winner and win a seven day tour to all the continents of the world. now, your child doesn't need to study geography from school books. he can give all the answers from personal experience

i've never seen a gay cure ad thus i asked.

I've gotten that ad, too, along with ones for publishing your book of poetry, kid's books, vanity publishers like Raider, invasion of the Aleutian Islands during WWII by the Japanese (although they used a more offensive word for Japanese people) and others. They seem to come in a fairly steady pattern. Why...IDK...the more knowledgeable people here seem to think it's a virus or malware.

Me, I'm gonna wear my tinfoil hat to bed from now on.
