R.I.P WOOF
It is my sad duty to report that Woof died January 19. He had been ill for some time. During his four years of membership in AW he was an active and highly entertaining member of this Whimsy subforum, spending most of his time right here and providing us with an unforgettable legacy of smiles and laughs. His name was Joseph Lipson. He was a bright, creative and very good-hearted person. He was the owner of a historic artists' cafe, a poet, a part-time actor--he appeared in several movies--and was a seminal fixture in Toronto's gay community. He was 61.
Joseph and I began an email correspondence several years ago, discussing everything from art to politics and beyond. I knew he was seriously ill, but I kept hoping for the best.
I feel a great personal loss, and I am sure many other members of this forum--usually so ready to laugh--will also regret the passing of our friend. He will be missed by many who never met him.
Look to the left, and you will find many threads Woof started.
