It is my great pleasure and honour to open - hopefully - a long series of posts and threads on this here forum.
Also hopefully, I intend to bring my contribution to the community long before I start annoying the heck out of you guys.
My name is Maximiljen, I'm 31 and I am an amateur writer. I've been writing since childhood, having started like most others, with a diary.
Life has it's ways: I work now as a journalist for a news TV station. I am a manipulative scheming bastard while at work, playing with the masses' opinions,
but when I get home.. everything changes. That's where I start plotting my own fantasy worlds.
I have a passion for history, mostly ancient and medieval history, anthropology and whatever makes people (and peoples) tick.
I'm also a fan of film noir, spaghetti westerns, old detective stories and classic music, like disco, funk, soul and blues (!).
I got here via google, looking for inspiration about military ranks in an antique/medieval fantasy setting, I liked what I read around, so I decided to stay.
Right now I am past documenting and outlining the main plot of a military high fantasy novel. If I'd have to name the genre, I'd go with Medieval Fantasy Noir.
