Ahhh! Dropped down to thirteenth. Tell your friends! And your friends' friends. The last time I had a story in this competition, it finished tied for twentieth, so I am doing better this time. So far.
I got the first short story I ever wrote published today: "Road Trip Lunch" is a sequel to the novel I'm trying to get an agent to represent. Enjoy!!! And as always, comments are welcome.
Last night I gave a talk on local Boy Scout history at a BSA roundtable meeting. It was cool I had some info they didn't know. I had the last three issues of the quarterly we do with me as I wrote BSA articles in them to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Sold 21 copies. I know, not a real big brag, but I had people come up to me afterward to say they really enjoyed it and learned something they didn't know, so that's always good to hear when your an historian.
Not a huge brag but my agent asked me to write a blog post for him. It's up today here. Oh and he called my book "hugely exciting" which is just the coolest thing ever.
An agent, Carole Greene, said she is starting my first novel (THE CHOSEN, a terrorism thriller) today! So, I should know soon what she thinks. She also has my YA adventure/thriller. Say a quick prayer.
In this case 'upcoming' means I'm still writing it. Don't worry, if it finds a publisher someday, I won't be shy about sharing the news. I'll be the guy wearing the Uppercut Avenue sandwich board sign.
