Which sentence is correct?
He or Peter were always here.
Or
He or Peter was always here.
I'd say the second, but I'm not too sure about it...

If it's dialogue, either is okay because it's up to the character to speak as he chooses.

In more formal style I would use - Either he or Peter was always here.

If I'm wrong, the grammar polis will come screaming round the corner -:snoopy:

It's subject-verb agreement.

When two subjects are connected by or, either/or, or neither/nor, they take the singular verb form.
