This summer we went to the theater a few times, saw:

-Cap 2: Winter Soldier
-X-Men: Days of Future Past
-The Edge of Tomorrow
-Guardians of the Galaxy
-Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill for

And my award of best movie of the 2014 Summer Movie Season goes to:

Guardians of the Galaxy

What's your opinion?

Really really really enjoyed DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Thought it was well written, the performances were fantastic, there were clever things I hadn't seen before but also a good old fashioned story. Plus it had an important moral behind it while not being dogmatic about it.

But I haven't seen BOYHOOD yet. Hopefully that will be remedied soon.

Mine, so far, is definitely THE ONE-HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY. Spectacular, spectacular. I've seen a LOT...and this one stands out as my fave.

BOYHOOD is my second fave. It was extraordinary. (-:

The Hundred-Foot Journey and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes were both worth seeing. But best of the summer? Nah, that was Guardians of the Galaxy.

It's funny...I almost always say, "I'm not an action movie type person" and avoid movies like this one until there's nothing else available to see (and yes...I have been in the situation where I have seen everything playing!). Then I go to a Guardians of the Galaxy type movie and I love it to pieces. I'm not there yet, but I'm sure when I sit down to this one, I will adore it fully and completely. We are planning to see it in the $25 seats with wine and catered popcorn...very soon! (-:
