Well, the cat's out of the bag! My husband and I are launching a new magazine. It's called Goldfish Grimm's Spicy Fiction Sushi and it opens for submissions on January 15th. We haven't listed it at Duotrope yet, but I thought you all should get the first look. :)

Congratulations, Brenda and husband :)

Hope it does well for you.

Thanks everyone! It's a small venture for now, but hopefully we can make two writers a month very happy and publish some fantastic fiction. And yup, that's me, soapy hehe

I've just "inaugurated" your magazine on Duotrope with its first submission report there. Good luck with it all! I'll be looking forward to reading the first issue. :)

Excellent. I'll have to start spamming subbing to them.

Another new one popped up today. "Nine: A Journal of Imaginative Fiction." From reading their guidelines, sounds like it's a royalty model with a guaranteed $40 payout regardless of sales volume.

Anyone know who the editors are behind "Nine?" I'm a bit leery of submitting to a market with anonymous editors, though their promise of turnarounds under 2 weeks is alluring.

Not sure if any of y'all have mentioned this already, but here's an open call for subs for a steampunk antho that Ann Vandermeer is editing. It's called Steampunk Revolution. Guidelines here. The open call closes March 1.

ETA: This is a call for reprints ONLY.
