If you read the Niven and Pournelle book, also read the sequel ESCAPE FROM HELL, it was written more recently and hell has undergone certain updates to compensate for changes that have happened on Earth.

Both books make an excellent Hell two-parter

I love Bosch. And Breughel the Elder. I have decent sized prints of both framed and hanging on my walls.

Thanks! Looked at this thread just out of curiousity, and finally now have an inspiration for a novel!

You should make up your own hell. I think one of my favorite concepts of hell is from "no Exit" (I forget who it's by, but it's good), and it's the concept of "hell is other people".
