oh wow! The AV kids were always envied, that was a Big Deal. The rest of us regular kids never knew how one got to be an AV kid but we were all wannabes.

I can still smell the mimeo paper from grade school, the light purple ink. Love(d) that smell.

Lambchop, Kaptain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans (when Hugh ?, Mr. Greenjeans died in PA some years ago, I actually mourned.) "My Friend Flicka," and does anyone remember "Fury?" I also remember a Saturday morning puppet show (all marionettes) called "Fireball XL5."

That sounds soooooo familiar, but I can't place it.

How about Science Fiction Theater, with your host, Truman Bradley?

And, of course, I Led Three Lives.

Give Tooter a wave for me. I sometimes use the last comment wise old Mister Wizard gives Tooter when I'm teaching. "Be what you is, not what you is not. Folks what do this is the happiest lot."

I remember when women wore veils to church.

Nat King Cole was the first black person to have his own
television show. Ramblin Rose.

Archie Moore, the Old Mongoose.

Schwinn bikes with balloon tires.

Most families were able to get by on only the father's income.

Divorce was rare, and adults talked about in whispers.

I remember when my hometown was so safe that at age 5,
I was allowed to walk a mile by myself to kindergarten.

When I was in third grade, one day the school principal came
in and gave us a very serious talk to warn us against a new singer who
was not appropriate for kids to watch....some guy named Elvis Presley.

The alternating COLGATE COMEDY HOUR SHOWS with Dean&Jerry, Donald O'Connor, Eddie Cantor, and Bob Hope. Jerry Lewis "playing" LeRoy Anderson's Typewriter Song was a gasser.

NEW FACES OF 1952 introducing Eartha Kitt, Paul Lynde, Robert Clary, and Alice Ghostly. Great tunes and wonderful sketches.
