I have been reading these forums for years, and have found so much valuable information (thank you!). I finally decided to join so I could ask a question I haven't been able to find within the many threads:

Does anyone have advice/experience regarding publicizing Erotic Historical Fiction? I'm struggling with the meshed genre, in that the series I've written is more heavily historical, but has some racy sex, which is likely to frighten some historical fiction readers.

Welcome Avery Grey.

Racy sex is OK as long as it is not immoral and doesn't encourage violence.

Have you tried reading Erotica (LINK)

P.S.
Also avoid misogynistic, homophobic, and racist connotations.

Hello!

I am new here as well.
I have no idea about your particular niche.
Throwing spaghetti at a wall, I'd consider asking erotic fiction authors and historical authors some advice on publicizing if there isn't an official meshed genre. You might have to see if there is common likes dislikes between the two genres and how well your story fits within those parameters.
All best,
JTS

I have no idea of the answer to your question, but I'm sure someone here will. That's the beauty of the forums. So welcome!
