Awwwwww... Fezzy was just lying here kinda sleepy like, and leaned my head on his side and he started purring! He's come such a long way in the last 6 months. I'm so proud of him! He and Sophie are getting on much better, too! She just reached down and gave him a pat on the head from her perch on the nightstand. (She likes it there cause the fan blows right on her!)
ObWriting, maybe your collective minds can help with this... I thought I knew where this book was going, but where it's going is booooring. I have a main character who's a thief. He's about 30-35. He gets caught by some mobsters after successfully robbing a casino in Atlantic City (one of the guys who helped with the robbery ratted him out). This guy is rich. He never spends his money; has it socked away in bank accounts under assumed names all over the US. So, the mobsters catch him, take him to the don (trussed up in the boot of the car), don says kill him, heavies take him to a field/clearing in BFE Michigan and shoot him with an untraceable Saturday night special. Guy doesn't die straight away. Whole scene witnessed by a naked blonde in a tree. She knocks out the heavies, drags them to their car and puts them in cos it's snowing and she doesn't want them to die, picks up our hero and takes him home over her shoulders like a deer. Home is at her brother's house. He's a veterinarian. Blonde tries to get him to patch up the hero. Brother's all, dude... No way, he's like, dead in two hours. Sheriff comes by (his wife is the vet clinic nurse) wonders why blonde has run out of the house crying. Eventually we find out all these people bar our hero is a werewolf.
Where do I go from here? The current reason I have for them to change him is that blonde and vet's parents were accidentally darted and taken by a wolf relocation team. Standard blood test are done, something weird shows up and is flagged as needing to be sent to the CDC. CDC comes and confiscates the wolves because THEY know what the irregularities in the blood mean. Blonde is then taken by the same crew (although, CDC or wolf relocation, I dunno) and brother decides that they have to change our hero after all. So they do....
That's kinda where I'm stuck. Blonde has just woken up, after being darted, in a cage in the back of a van. That's it. I dunno how to keep the story going and it's mighty frustrating!
