I've added Progressive, and counted the two who indicated that's how they saw themselves.

I checked Libertarian, Independent, and Moderate, and ALMOST unchecked moderate - what makes me "immoderate" is I disagree with many points from both the Left and Right. Some of my views might be considered radical.

Would a mod add my vote to Capitalist? I glanced through and didn't see it when I read the options. I'm definitely for Capitalism. The only other ways I would get rich would be to win the lottery or become a rock star, and both of those are very unlikely. Actually the rock star thing would fall under Capitalism, wouldn't it?

You left out Progressive.
I understood Progressive to be Socialist (I don't have to say "correct me if Im wrong," do I???), though I suppose people should be allowed to choose the exact label they want to use for their ideology.
And I'm a libertarian but definitely no Libertarian.

That's interesting, what about the Libertarian Party do you not like, or are you "just not a member" because you don't feel like signing up, or what? I haven't signed up even though I agree with much of the LP - I'm not very policitally active beyond voting and reading/listening to others' ideas.

I chose "Moderate" and nothing else, simply because I find myself in support of viewpoints taken by nearly every one of the groups listed, depending on the issue in question. Frankly, I've grown tired of the rhetoric and dogma associated with each entity, and I loathe the idea of people being "guided" by a group mentality instead of their own principles.

I have to go. The fence I'm sitting on is causing my Hanes to sneak into some inappropriate and uncomfortable areas, and I can't fix it with all you people watching.

I don't know, going commando is kind of a Liberal thing to do, and I'm trying to stay neutral here, but what the hey. You only go around once, right?

(shuffling noises)

Here we go. Huh, I forgot this was a barbed-wire fence. Well, I'm sure these worn-out blue jeans will provide more than enough prot...OH MY GOD! That f**king hurts! Get the wire cutters!

If the categories are going to be fine tuned for everyone, Constitutionalist should be added. It most closely reflects my political positions.

I've got to admit, I'm not really even sure that there are agreed upon definitions for all of these.

What is the difference between pro-free-trade and a capitalist? I am for both (with certain rules applied).
Free-trade means no international trading barriers. You can be capitalist, but against allowing trade with other non-capitalist nations, for instance. Or you could be capitalist but be a complete economic isolationist--the game ends at the borders.

I understand that Belgium is considering dumping the EU and all socialism in their government to try out this latter policy.

Conservative, Republican leaning towards Liberterian, Free Trade. Consider socialism to be the precurser of Communism. Agree with Gary, the constitution rules. Consider most politicians to be lower than whale dung and that's on the bottom of the ocean.

I don't see Despotist, Copernican, or Mooninite on the list, so I picked Conservative/Libertarian/Capitalist.

I’m a slightly conservative moderate on social issues, but when it comes to money, I’m conservative all the way. I plan on being rich within the next 15 years, so if I work hard for it, then I should be able to keep it, not pay for someone else’s ride. People make their own luck.

Typically, I describe myself as a Northeast establishment Liberal snob, which is almost an endangered species these days. But as I'm sure there's no reason to add that to the options, I'll just be happy with "liberal."

I put Libertarian although not really knowing what it means...
Libertarian means you feel that services currently operated by the government should be operated by private industry and you consider taxation to be "stealing;" for example, Libertarians oppose public (government-run) schools, social service programs, fire departments, street paving, and so on.

Liberal, independent, progressive. I agree with the Dems on most issues but on a couple of important ones I don't, so I didn't check Democrat.

Between chaos and confusion
Conservative, Libertarian, free trade, capitalist, constitutionalist, who even agrees with some Democrat positions, now and again... therefore, I pretty much have no party.

I put moderate capitalist dawnolite midevalist, which I KNOW is a HUGE paradox, but well you know, I just want the best of both worlds.

Well actually I'm pretty much an independent, because I am both liberal AND conservative, depending on the issue :O mind-boggling
