wow, is that like almost blind, tas?

i've had the same eyesight since i began
wearing glasses at age 6. or rather, i think
i started around 2 in near sightedness?

lily pie, you got it done right around when
eyes are supposed to "change" so i think you
had a great run.

yes, i think it totally depends on a number
of factors. my glasses aren't heavy on me, etc.

wow, is that like almost blind, tas?

I have asked the eye doctor if I'm "legally blind" but they always hem and haw about it and never confirm nor deny. *shrug* I feel pretty damn blind, without my glasses (or contacts. Might get contacts again this week. Debating)

I was told (a long time ago) that because of how bad my eyes are, even if I had Lasik, I would still need corrective lenses, so I figured what's the point of spending that money? Don't know if that's still the case, I'm assuming the technology has been updated since then.

I'm at about -8.00 for short-sightedness and still worsening. Thank you, parental genes.

I'm farsighted and getting worse... Last time I got my eyes checked my prescription was 1.5 in each eye. It's probably 1.75 maybe even 2 now

caleb, my bubs came out the womb
with worse far sightedness than you. ha!

my sweet pea needed at age 4 or 5?
and so strange, their eyes almost exact
same.

and far sighted, not near like me.

hub? he stares at a computer 12 hours
a day at least. 43. perfect vision.

that ain't gonna last for much longer. =p

and i've yet to see GOOD GENES
passed on to our bubs. well, i hope some
were, cause damn.

I just had a glasses debacle last week. My beloved pink glasses broke, and the prescription was so old I had to get an optometry appointment first (which I knew I needed, based on the headaches I've been getting lately...) So I scrambled on Friday and did the appointment. Turns out my astigmatism is getting worse but in a weird way. Took 3 days to get new glasses during which time I got NO writing done because I couldn't look at the TV screen without a raging headache. *sigh*

But I've got them. Just in time to go back to work. ;)

Thanks all. I love glasses too. But, it would be nice to wear them as just an accessory and not a necessity. I don't mind contacts, but the thought of not having to rely on either is enticing. My flex-spending will cover most of it, so at least it's pre-tax. Hmm...

Caleb-I have every confidence you will soon be on to new and better things, even if the future seems a bit daunting now. You don't seem to let things intimidate you for long.

And, Teri has some fabulous news. I'm after her to come post it here because i'm so happy her persistence has paid off.

Hi, All.

Sorry it's been so long. I did see piles of purgies at SCBWI this summer.

Once I have a signed contract, I'll post on PM, but meanwhile . . . . shhhhh .... let me know if you want a rep. Or email me and I'll tell.

*sends up the Junk Signal for Teri*

If I had any Photoshop knowledge, I would totally take a Bat-Signal pic from the old series and create a Junk-signal.

Hint, hint?

ETA: Wow, that Junk Signal is powerful! :D

Teri, congrats! Rep, please?

I hope all of you on the East Coast stayed somewhat dry and warm with no fallen trees and all of that. What a horrific storm.

Thanks for all the sqeees and reps. I still have several other manuscripts out there, including a few requested revisions. This was the one I most wanted to sell, though, because of the market I believe it would be hard to successfully self-publish.
