People who get mad when they've misdialed and you're not the person they want to talk to.

Doctors insisting I need vitamins without inquiring into my eating habits.

Overweight women who wear knit tops that hug clench every bulge from the muffin-top on up. Ladies, you can buy a top that fits and flatters. Do so.

People who conduct their business via laptop and cell phone in restaurants at the top of their voices. I don't care how much it costs to bring the crusher up from Pennsylvania or why the customer should hire your guys instead of using his own employees on this job.

Why anyone likes Charlie Sheen.

Maryn, mystified about much

Why people like reality shows.
Cloud computing. WHY?
Facebook and Twitter. WHY?
Why Americans think they are about to get free healthcare.
All those gadgets with the teeninsy screens that do everything but who could tell.

I don't understand why we've made it so we have to work for a living.

It's a stupid and evil idea.

Because we need more newer and neater stuff! That and owning property - your piece of the earth, all yours (except it never is, is it?).
You misunderstand me, Sir. I like the stuff, I really do. I just don't want to work for it.

Cloud computing. WHY?

zomg I love the cloud! (I don't actually get "zomg", it's odd... moving on.) I have a computer, a laptop, and a cell phone that "does everything", and I keep my writing documents in a "file" program in the cloud (Dropbox) that each of them can access. Not only can I access any story I am working on from any of these locations without having to remember my "work flash drive" or emailing myself the right file, I can also download them from computers (like at my MIL's house) if I find unexpected time to work, or quickly drop them in the folder I share with my husband so he can read something and give me a quick opinion. Working has gotten a million times easier since I started doing this, and I NEVER have the problem of getting all the way to Starbucks for a little worky session and realizing I forgot the flash drive with all my work on it.

People who don't vote.
Writers who don't understand the value of social media like Facebook, twitter, etc. or even don't just get the fun. And yet, they waste all day here.

FIFY. Wtf? Is it a misspelling of fifty?

Why we don't spend more on the space program--or teaching science even.

Why more women don't wear Yoga pants all the time.
1. People who pick their nose in traffic.
People who don't have their eyes on the road where they should be.

I'm one of those. I don't do it 'cause I don't want to "social pressure" to be active and report details of my very boring life to people who shouldn't give a crap about it--just like I don't give a crap about their boring lives. Even if my life is boring, I want to live my life and leave the reporting of it to any biographers who might take an interest after I'm dead.

Here--this is playing with friends who share an interest I'm passionate about. People who stay here share that passion. In social media, it seems the goal is quantity, not quality and if that number includes trolls, idjits and people I wouldn't speak to in the street, that doesn't matter 'cause I've "got more friends then you do." Thanks, not interested.

The goal on social media isnt any different than it is here. Facebook is as much playing with friends as here. In fact, there I have MORE control over who I play with, who sees my posts, and such. Here there are over 20000+ people I have no clue who they are. There I can be selective.

ETA: 43,757 people. I was a little off.

I don't think you want EVERY woman wearing Yoga pants all the time!

I don't get men with large beer bellies who mow their lawns shirtless...

....people who complain about diabetes and eat MacDonalds and vending machine candy all day.

....why wine can't be GOOD for your liver. I mean, really? Why must it be bad?

...why I can't have it all.

Because the Fourth of July cake is gone, silly!

(Our kids, and apparently many others, would get so giggly they gasped for breath at the brilliant exchange which begins, "Guess what?" and the reply, "Chicken butt." They're adults now and still think it's mildly funny.)

Maryn, who said only sensible things in her day, god damn it!

lost among the words
"Fashionista"--both the silly word and the obsession with fashion.

Geico's insistence on seventeen hundred spokes-things (I mean, not all of them are human).

Speaking of commercials--am I the only one wondering why Progressive's Flo and Nationwide's "Greatest Spokesman" have been in more than one commercial? Can't stand either of them, especially him.

Why my dog (Pekingese) insists on finding every burr and weed in the neighborhood just after I've got him fully brushed out.

Why my laundry just can't do itself. That would be so very nice.
