Thanks to the most recent #PitMad, I submitted to an agent for the first time.

I was excited when my tweet got favorited. Then I researched them. My eyes about fell out of my head.

But terror aside, I hit send. I'm sure the fear will fade. #Soon.

And hey, at least I know I can write a twitter pitch. :D

CONGRATULATIONS! (And wise of you to do some research before firing off a submission!) I wish you good luck and many more requests. (Or, you know, this one could just work out for you!)

Thanks everyone! ♥

I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. (Or I can resist the urge to constantly check my email.)

And Wampuscat, I came here first when I saw the notification. :)

I found their thread. Read it. Then I looked at their site, and went:

Best of luck, TNK! I'm slowly but surely getting into Twitter and other forms of social media. I'd never heard of the PitMad hashtag, but it looks interesting.

Thanks again. ♥ I have so far resisted checking my email a million times a day.

Grayworld:

#PitMad is fun. It's a different way to try and get an agent or editor's attention. I got a lovely rejection out of the first #PitMad I did. Brenda Drake runs it. The next #PitMad is Dec. 4th. :)

Advice:

1. Nurture aspirations as much as you can.

2. Never embrace expectations.

caw

I find it's important to lure expectations into dark alleys in order to shank and leave them there.

But. I haven't subbed to an agent yet. I feel another round of shanking will be in order when I do.

Thanks J.B.Kantt and Cathy C. Now that some time has passed, I'm ready to do it again. Nerves be damned. :D

Robertt: The agent found my tweet during #PitMad. It's a twitter pitch event that last from 8:00 am EST to 8:00 pm EST. The rules are here: #PitMad

Basically on the assigned day,( the next one is Dec. 4th), you write a 140 character pitch. You need to write enough tweets for two tweets every hour and add in the hash tag #PitMad, along with the category your book falls under. (A, YA, MG, ect.)

I used Tweet Deck to schedule the tweets, that way I didn't have to sit on the computer all day. I only sat on it half the day. :tongue

I added in the genre too, but you don't have too. I got lucky, and an agent saw my tweet and favorited it.

Now I get to wait. :D
