Browsing the YA section of the library, I found a book called My Father the Werewolf! :Wha:It's similar to my idea, except set in the present day. Mine is set in 18th century Europe.

I assume you've stumbled upon books with ideas very close to yours. Does it stop you from working on the current project? It doesn't with me. Just curious and wanted to share.

If a book has an idea that is really close to mine I'll wait till I've finished what I'm working on to read it.

Most ideas are variations of another so it does not seem as if there is a problem here as long as the final product is different from the other book. Keep at it and see where it goes.

This is just me, but I'd be so curious I'd be too distracted to write until I finished reading the book and sighed relief that indeed it is entirely different in so many ways from what I'm writing, and then continue my writing with a smile and clear conscience.
