I bought a block of ISBN's about a week ago and I've already gotten a solicitation call from a Publishing services company. They said that they were informed by Bowker that I recently purchased ISBN's. I'm SO annoyed by this! I've contacted Bowker customer service about their privacy policy and how to opt-out of solicitation calls and I'm still waiting to hear back.

I'm curious - has anyone else has experienced this???

Bowker is your go-to place to get your meta-data going to the right places. If someone heard about your book, and credit bowker for the info, that's not a bad thing. You want them to send out information about your book -it's what they do. They make people aware that your book exists. Libraries, bookstores, searches online... etc etc. It's part of the process. That a company contacts you for publishing services... well, unless they say they're a subsidiary of Bowker, I'd just chalk it up to yet another publishing service trolling for customers.
