Word count for erotic novella

I've been working on my first novella while taking a break from editing my novel.

I'm just curious; what is a good word count for an erotic/romance novella?

The story is unfolding with much of the erotic element at the forefront and the romance woven throughout. I planned on having it unfold over the course of maybe 4 in the series.

One of my reader/friends told me it was too "pornographic" so I've added in more of the romantic elements.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Filagree. I thought I'd seen in that range, but wanted to make sure. So far I've got about 11,000 and I have two more big sequences to do and then the ending.

I figure mine will end up being somewhere near 20,000 ish.

It's good to get other perspectives.

I'm not leaving it 11,000, that's where I am with it right now. I hope to have 20,000 or so, or that's the plan.
