Is 6 months the normal time before you send out an email to someone that has your full? It's been out with an agent for 3 months, and from what I've read, 6 months seems to be the appropriate amount of time before you send an email asking how it is going right?

When you do send the email, what does it usually say? Just asking how they like the book or if they have any questions?

I think I got into my teaching program! I had to call the office and the director told me they were going to send me an admission letter. How's that for unofficial news? But I'm excited anyways now so let's bounce! :hooray::hooray::hooray::hooray::hooray:

This is a one year online program to become a teacher in California (or Oregon), post-bachelors degree courses. I can keep working and (mostly) do my student teaching in the classroom assistant job I already have. I've been making myself crazy worrying about getting in so now I can chill out!

Heheheh, I think you might be! I'll bounce for that tho :e2bouncey:e2bouncey

Thanks. I am really antsy for them to send me the admissions stuff properly though! I just found I passed this horrible test I took last month. So I don't have to take an extra quarter of classes to prepare for it, huzzah! :hooray:

Yay, Kitty! :e2woo:

I'm a little sad today. I'm very sick. That sinus infection I had a couple weeks ago has infected my lungs, so now I have this brain-jarring cough. The cat won't come near me. And I don't think I'm going to be able to go home for Easter because I don't want to infect my family.

The doctor gave me another round of antibiotics yesterday, and a couple of shots, so I'm hoping to kick this by Monday. I can't miss work, so sick or not, I'll have to go. And I have a busy work week next week. :e2bummed:

It sounds like what everyone in my family a couple weeks ago, it was bad. But, if you got an antibiotic shot, that usually does the trick!

Now, trying to get sleep with the cough is such a pain, a couple nights I had to sleep in a recliner. Hopefully, you won't need to do that.

Hope you feel better soon!

I don't have a recliner. :(

I've been sleeping on the couch, mostly. And I've been sleeping a lot. But it hasn't been good sleep.

Thanks for the get well wishes, everyone. :Hug2:

depends what we're opening...

*heh heh heh*

(that's my evil laugh)

And sending lots of puppy hugs to smish. My puppy had to go to the vet on Monday and I got the carpet cleaned today, so she needs lots of extra hugs. As long as it's over the interwebs, she can share. But if you come here in person, she will bark at you...

Closing in on 10K in a week! Gotta love spring break.

I have finished the All is Lost moment, got up at 6 a.m. to write the Dark Night of the Soul chapter, and now I'm on to the Finale!

I never thought I'd have so much fun following an outline, but it's really helped me speed things up. I've been able to stay focused on what needs to be accomplished in each section, I feel like I'm on the right track, and I'm not wasting time doubting myself. Things are looking very good to have the first draft finished by the end of the month. Which would mean two months of brainstorming, four months of writing. Give myself another month or two for revisions, and I could be querying by summer!

And I still have 3 more days of vacation.

I think 2, 3, or 4, but I also kind of want to be a resource specialist (a special ed teacher who doesn't teach a special ed classroom). I was extremely unofficially offered a position as a resource specialist in a couple years when my school expands to K-8.

I've been thinking about working on a Master's in Education. I'd want to teach high school English. Problem is, I only minored in English, so I'd have to do quite a few prerequisites. And I currently have a job where I'm insanely busy and stressed and sick and can't take time off from work, so I doubt it'll happen.

Congrats Judy & Kitty!

Mware, I'm marginally excited. I mean, I live in Seattle, so how excited can I be? But my husband is always over the moon for baseball season to start, so the excitement is contagious.

Smish, how are you feeling?

Since good news is going around, I started querying a new manuscript this week and I have gotten two full requests from dream agents. I'm pretty over the moon myself (and batting around ideas for my next project).

Any fun Easter plans?
