I have high-speed internet.
I've been waiting for it to come out in paperback, and in my impatience I did something I never do: I read the reviews. Now, I am nervous. Styxx is, what I would consider as a follow up to Acheron, which I skipped a lot of the brutal rape scenes. The reviews good and bad seem to be under a conciseness that Styxx takes it further and there is more graphic rape scenes from page one to the end -- and if she is trying to one-up Acheron's suffering then I can only imagine the level that it needs to be at.
I am very uncomfortable reading about rape, I will skip it. There is no reason in a paranormal fantasy romance to read it.
My question is: has anyone read this? Is it really as graphic, brutal, and vile as the reviewers say.
I'll be sad to skip the book, but I rather be sad then the inevitable consequence. There is a good reason why I skip this topic.

I used to be a big fan. I haven't read in quite awhile but I am of the same mind.

Gratuitous rape scenes aren't my thing whatsoever.
