Spitfire trails sparkles? Neat.

Marianne, I'm drinking diet Pepsi, so I get you on that one, although the weather here is perfect.

I think I'll abstain in the vegan vs. carnivore battle. I could be vegetarian, as long as you don't take my cheese and butter. Or eggs. Or, okay, tuna. I'm really only a Catholic vegetarian. Meat from warm-blooded animals is not really anything I'd miss much.

We finished our slab! (Hurray!) Now all we have to do is frame, roof, and sheet the shed that goes on top of it. *sighs* One step at a time. The concrete was very draining. This getting old thing sucks.

Virtual tea, coffee, and soda for everyone. Hard to get much done when you're falling asleep. :)

I'll take some coffee, please!

We just had a sudden hailstorm (I forgot to check the radar). I was in a dog enclosure outside when it popped up, lol! I had no idea hail jumps all around so high. That was pretty exciting

In a dog enclosure, eh? Interesting.

I was just checking the forecast here for heavy thunderstorms, wondering about hail. Would be a bad day for hail since I have lots of young plants out there that could get damaged. Nothing to do at this point but not worry, so I'm not worrying.

Oh, no! I hope they do fine.

I don't think the hail hurt anything here. I know my neighbor covers the seedlings in his garden with hardware cloth because the wild turkey flock keeps eating them otherwise, so his are good, hopefully.

My local community garden posted a photo on Facebook of worms drowning due to all the rain we've had.

Please give. The worm you save may be in your own garden.

Good morning, house of search and rescue.

We've been without electricity for 26 hours. Yesterday morning, the sub-station for our area exploded and caught fire. I was in the middle of checking my email and 'boom', the windows rattled and the power went out. (Just what my desktop computer really doesn't need - it got knocked out by an unplanned 'load shed' on Friday evening and again on Sunday and then yesterday's sub-station blast.) I went outside and could see clouds of black smoke a few blocks away. About a half hour later there was an announcement on the radio that the Roosevelt Park sub-station had caught fire - no mention of an explosion. It's not likely to be anything sinister though, probably just a massive surge on poorly maintained equipment. :(

But the power's on now. :snoopy:I haven't dared open the deep freeze but I think everything should be okay. Just got a ton of work to catch up on. I'll check back with you all later. :D

If you need anything just toot your vuvuzela. Or, someone else's vuvuzela if you're feeling frisky.

Gee, Gail that bites. Hope it goes on very soon! :Hug2:s to you 'n all. Hey kee! So nice to see muppet back and that the muppet wars didn't destroy anybody. :) btw I am proud of myself cause my mouse froze 'n wouldn't work and I got upset but then I decided to see if I could put new batteries in it and voila, it worked! I am so tech-challenged so this was a great feat for me. :) :Cake:s.

Good job, Susie! Another thing which often works with mice is to give them cheese.

I find that being angry at misbehaving technology sometimes shames it into working.
True fact.

It's a nice day here. I'm just back from a one-hour walk along the river greenway.

Not fun!
*remembers earlier discussion about swapping visits
*decides to get guest room ready

I'm on one of those free night plans for my electricity and we don't have power outages near as often as y'all - just sayin, ya' know, for when you visit my area.

WTG Susie!

So you did that and I just taught my mom how to turn on her CD player.

GailD, I hope you get your power back ASAP!

Somehow it's lunchtime already and I never managed any sort of breakfast. Today is going much too quickly!

In some ways, I love busy days because I feel so productive. But we've got plans tonight and that means I've got the first line for a new WIP in my head and no time to write anything that comes after it down!
