That dero hooligan thinks he's so sick, but we'll cane him good.

Yeah, even though I'm Australian, I know surprisingly little Aussie slang.

Did you know, Aussies wear thongs on their feet?

My husband does, but I hate them LOL

As for slang - I'm not sure we all speak a great deal of slang as such, but the way we speak sounds like it because we leave off parts of our words sometimes, and possibly pronounces our words strangely to others and have different meanings for English words than say, the USA.

Ow you goin?

Question: Do any Aussies on this board actually drink Fosters Beer?

I was surprised to learn that Pure Blonde (a low-carb beer) was made by Fosters. That's the only Fosters I've ever had... but apparently Fosters is the #1 Aussie beer overseas... go figure!

I'll have a Gin and Coke, thanks.

Nope, I do not drink Fosters.

I like loads of different beers, but primarily drink coopers green, corona, or whatever german stuff they've got on tap

Well, one of my friends, a girl, drinks beer and tooheys and my husband drinks VB.

I've relayed this a few times on AW over the past few years...but when I went to the USA, I drank Barcadi and lemonade...and when I was there, until I got use to saying Barcadi and 7UP, I was served Barcadi and lemon cordial LOL

It might be because, at least by what my husband says, Fosters is the weaker beer or maybe he means lighter. Don't know if that is true, but he tells me that American beer and Fiji beers is not as heavy.

This brings me to another thought...that a pub in The Rocks called the Lord Nelson use to have the best home brewed beer on tap and cheese and pickle platters a few years ago....yum, I'm off to have chinese now. :D

Well, the Russians are discussing how to set up keyboards to type in Cyrillic, the Germans are debating the peculiarities of noun endings ... and the Australians are chatting about their favourite alcoholic beverages.
