Thanks, Calla! (That's very welcoming. I was thinking speznas.)

Hahahaha. Thanks! Nice to see you again too! (Even if you are barely recognizable, earthling.)

*waves hello to Peggy*

Good luck with the sample chapter, Erin, I'm also waiting to hear back on some sample chapters (as well as a bunch of other things) and the waiting is really starting to make me twitch... *lines up speznas*

*blows dust off the bar*

*plumps up the cushions*

*sets out mojitos*

I turned in the new book to the new editor. Schedule was tight, so no time for beta readers. I had no feeling at all about the book. The Suckitude Gremlins have been gnawing at me since I turned in the book.

Fortunately, I got my edit letter today and she "loves" it. I can breathe again. The edits are completely doable. *whew*

*slugs mojito*

Agent has another book ready to go out on sub pretty darned soon (I think).

I keep on keeping on.

Hey! I guess I can post here now. I'm not biting my nails because the 2nd book in my series is due to my editor next month and I'm so far behind. I just can't seem to get it together.

Calla, I'll take one of those mojitos!

Tas! Calla! You rule.

Lex, I hear you. Oh, do I hear you.

My sample chapter is currently languishing with the agent. Whee. I need a non-anyone-else-contingent project to work on in the meantime, but am feeling undermotivated.

Good news part 2: The editor also likes the 8K short story I wrote as a bridge between the old series and the new.

Again, I am quite relieved.

I also have a vent: The one thing I wish writers could do now that writers used to be able to do? Just plain describe a character when they first appear! Hair, build, eyes, etc. He/she looks like X and X and X. Okay, thanks, move on.

Now if you do that simple thing, you're pegged as an amateur. Argh!

Thank you. Vent over. *pours mojito*

I agree, Calla. I think that's the hardest part for me. I've struggled with it on every single story/novel I've written.

My agent has my first three chapters and I'm anxious to hear her thoughts, so I understand, erinbee.

Wish me luck... I'm about to ask writers who are MUCH more well-known than me for blurbs...

:e2drunk:

ETA: So far got one Yes and one "If I like it I'll blurb." It's nice to know writers more famous than me. :)

Luck, Calla. (Delayed luck!)

News-ish: I finally got edits back from my agents and I believe they passed them along to The Editor last week. I am trying not to think about it!
