4-pronged rejectolanche last eventide! And my football team got knocked out the semi-finals of major cup competition by a team four divisions below us... To quote the great man: "Wtf did I do?!"

Don't you wish the stars would sometimes fail to align?

Here's to happier days for you and your team!

ugg - sorry to hear it. Oh well, on the writing at least, four new markets you get to try, eh?

54-day form from Grimm and Grimmer. Oh well, it came back in time to go to EC at the beginning of next month.

4 day R from Threepenny Review. Not surprising, really, as I aimed high!

The poem is strong and is right back out the door. My poetry's getting stronger, so I'm happy. Each rejection encourages me to polish a bit more. :D

9 day form from F&SF. My two-sub streak of GvG R's has been broken.

Commiserations on the R's everyone, especially the multiple-pronged ones.

R from Nightfall - but a very nice one. Liked the story and the writing but the tone wasn't the right fit. They mentioned that though they say they are dark fiction, they tend more to the horror end of the spectrum. Good to know!

I love how horror writers/editors are often some of the nicest people.

Those crickets weren't supposed to suddenly reappear and bite you, Renard!! Sorry about the rejectolanche. :( Perhaps the Saint Bernard needs to be dispatched with the collar-flask of brandy?

10 day R from Waylines for a story I absolutely adore. Nice quick response, which I appreciate, but the characters weren't enough for them, which I can understand. Oh well, off to the next market. Maybe after I change the ending...

Thank you, Lola! The Saint Bernard is helpful, particularly with the brandy...back in the saddle today.

90(ish) day rejection from Tor.com. I think I've only ever gotten one other rejection from them so it's hard to say if the "Please send us more of your stories in the future." is part of the form or not. The rest all looks standard.

The rejectolanche should end soon, I hope!

Don't wish for the rejections to stop. If they ever stop it means one of three things:

1) You are not submitting enough.
2) You're submitting but the markets are taking way too long
3) You're Neil Gaiman.

Check to see whether you're Neil Gaiman. If so, congratulations. Otherwise, see 1) and 2).

So instead of wishing for no rejections, hope for the acceptance to rejection ratio to always keep improving!

:)

Unfortunately right now I'm a number one. :( Will fix this soon!
