Why must we be forced to choose between Fish Taco and Salsa? I like them both together!! With some guacamole (preferably made by me).

I'm still at the 'Fish Taco?' stage. I tried them once. But I was pregnant and for some reason, they pressed a taste/smell against my palate much like the elephant house at the zoo. In August.

Haven't gone back to try them again. I just haven't gotten that hungry yet.

We make them at home so we know the fish is fresh. Yum yum.

given parts of mexico is coastline, it makes sense. But they are weird to my senses. I made some at home once, with a receipe from Kraftfoods.com. It had cabbage and a special sauce. It turns out I made a type of coleslaw with fish in a taco shell. Weird.

We grill whitefish in a skillet with garlic & oil and break it up so it's in small pieces. Then you take a tortilla, put some mayo (optional), the fish, slice of avocado, and top with salsa (tomato, onion, jalapeño & lots of lime). Add a little salt & you're good!

Behind you! Boo.
I like it with lots of cabbage. Is that even authentic, or some weird Americanized version?

I like the way they do them at Taco del Mar. They grab a taco shell, toss a battered fish filet in it, and top it with more or less the same things you'd put on a beef taco.

This just strikes me as being wonderfully absurd.

At home, I tend to make them with chunk white albacore tuna, sauteed with baby spinach leaves in balsamic vinegar. Wholly different experience.

I think a lot of people who say ewwwww to fish tacos assume they'll be served the first way. THAT sounds gross to me. I'm so happy that's not real Mexican food and places don't serve that garbage. Fresh ingredients all the way!

(the second way sounds delicious!)

I like it with a comma in the middle and exclamation point at the end as a command to motivate a lazy taco to fish.

Just like to add, I've never had a taco before, but the whole notion of it sounds excitedly yummy to me. Any food goes down easy for me, as I love it all. :D

P.S-What kind of fish is involved in this taco then?

What is a taco made of anyway?
