I'm turning in!
Save me a marshmallow and a Coors Light. I'll see you crazy kids before the weekend is through!

REMEMBER: DON'T EAT PAINT CHIPS.

That is my sage advice for the evening.

WAIT A MINUTE

What the hell is your thread title from? My dad says this all the time and I thought he was just being...my dad.

then again, I've learned over time that most of his weird phrases are song lyrics, movie lines, etc.

It was an old movie starring Ronald Reagan.

Uh, before he was president, of course. When he was president it was bedtime for Ronnie. ;-)

Yes indeed. And Bonzo was his monkey/sidekick.

Hollywood has been seriously lacking on movies featuring primates lately. What will our political candidates pledge to do about this dilemma?

What a cultured dad I have....
My dad was similar also, only he'd say, "Hit the hay."

He wouldn't say, "Go to bed," or, "Good night, sleep tight."

Always, and I mean ALWAYS, he'd say, "Hit the hay."

I heard it thousands of times, and never once did we live close to a barn or near a hay stack.

And you know what's really weird? When I tell my children to "Hit the hay," they know exactly what I mean every time and go straight to bed. :)

My dad always sang, "Goodnight Sweetheart," to me. Every night, when it was time to go to bed. :)

The other thing he tells us to do is hit the hay.

Hmm.
