Finding a book based on an excerpt

I have a strange question.
If you have an excerpt of a story and you think it may be from a well known book, is there any way to do a search of what book the excerpt was taken from?

Thanks for any help.

This has worked for me in the past. Go to Google and type, within quotes, the most unique phrase from the book that you have.

For example, "kingdom of daylight's dauphin" would give me the Gerard Manley Hopkins poem in which it occurs.

Good luck!

Yeah, just type as much of the excerpt as you can. As long as it isn't paraphrased you should find it.

Failing that, google the characters' names.

If Google didn't have it, maybe one of us will recognize it. Besides, inquiring minds want to know
