Hey all,
I just started posting on this site thanks to my boyfriend who got me reading others' works. I have been "writing" since I was in about the second grade. I put it in quotes because I, in no way, intend to have anyone think it is remotely respectable. Like many others, I write when I'm emotional...which leads to much of my work being angry, or sappy, all to the extremes. Unfortunately, with my life as it is right now, I haven't had much time to write. However, I am going to be an English teacher, and figure I should get myself back into practicing what I preach. As a teacher, I value ALL feedback (mostly the bad stuff) and love to hear from everyone.

Ciao,

Amy

Somewhere in my mind... it echoes in here ...
Welcome to AW, Amy, As an English teacher you'll have skills and this place will help unlock creativity. Explore the threads, which are many, and ask any questions that crop up. There are many here already published willing to share the experience and many others with knowledge about everything...boggles the mind it does. Have a good time!

Welcome. I'm not a teacher but I'm sometimes asked to talk to students on writing. I really enjoy it. I give examples of how lucky we are to have English as our language because it's got all the good words from a dozen other languages. I hope you enjoy sharing with youngsters as well.

:welcome: Amy!
I hope you enjoy your time here. And to help you enjoy it even more, I would suggest visiting us at Jed's Super-Dooper Newbie 'Traditional Irish Pub' thread . We have cookies, breakfast, drinks, karaoke, and good natured fun!

I hope you receive any support or answers you may need. And with your expertise I hope you will be able to help others along in their literary struggles, as well.

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, which is in a sticky thread at the top of the Newbie Forum. If you have any problems you can PM (private message) me and I'll see if I can help, or you can post in the Super-Dooper Newbie 'Ask the Mod' thread at the top of the newbie forum.

To find out about the various buttons and icons, and also about rep points, how to PM (private message) members, custom avatars and a whole host of other useful stuff, check out Cathy_C's thread, which is also stickied at the top of the Newbie forum, Next on our tour, if you'll look to the left, you'll notice...

And for fun, we have the terrific Newbie Question of the Day thread. Pop in and have a go at answering a few of the really easy questions (the link is in the sig line below). They are easy. Yep, they are. And it's so much fun.

We also have a brand new Super-Dooper Newbie 'Traditional Irish Pub' thread where you can come and relax, have a drink and practice posting whilst chatting to other newbies and not so new newbies .

Oh, and do you like double choc-chip cookies? :D
