A publisher or agency using Google ads to solicit your novel probably isn't anyone you want to write for.

If you send your novel to a agent...

When they say they will help you publish it, will they copyright it for you? I had someone tell my they would. I just wanted to make sure that it's true though.

If the agent agrees to represent you, he or she tries to sell your book to a publisher. The publisher takes care of registering the copyright. Your work is technically copyrighted from the moment you create it.

A reputable agent won't. When you land a publisher, they'll do all of that for you.

No need to fret over copyright. There's plenty of threads around here on the subject. May I suggest a quick search of 'copyright' will help explain in detail.

Neither of my publishers copyrighted my work. It isn't necessary.
