Patty Ann, here. I'm pretty excited about finding this forum - or it found me?? Any way, I'm loving the realism and candidness here. It's about time, for me anyway, that I can share my thoughts and fears with others like-minded. Even in the midst of a big family, writing is a lonely endeavor that so few understand as shown by their relentless interruptions!!

I'm hoping to gain knowledge from the experienced, empathy from those who like me have to work full time yet still steal time to write a paragraph or two in the midst of the second shift (making supper, etc.), and honesty from those who get knocked down but have the tanacity (audacity) to get back up and go for it again.

I look forward to sharing my work with you all, and I hope you will do the same with me.

God Bless,

Thank you, Foonting

I'm impressed. Love the big boys (prefer geldings) - the "gentle giants" but I can't pick up their feet! I have a 23-year-old Thoroughbred and a 16-year-old Quarter Horse that I ride lightly - not because they can't handle more, I just don't have more time or we'd be out in the desert every day. Are we talking horses? Don't get me started! I'm working on a novel now - murder mystery with a hint of romance which includes . . . you guessed it . . . horses. I'll be throwing out some stuff for critiques down the road, and look forward to input. Can you tell I'm a writer at heart? Can't stop once I get started.

Thank you for your quick welcome!

Hi there, Patty Ann, and welcome to the Cooler. I also work full time (at least until August) and try to juggle the day job (I work as an administrator for a group of schools), the housekeeping and the writing - but's it's tough. Now I'm thinking of only working half-time and then using the extra free hours for writing only - in the hope of building up my abitly to earn money just by writing. I want to do so much, but now the time for it lacks me.

Hey! Welcome to the AW cooler! :hi:

We are a friendly bunch and you should be able to find anything you are interested in here. And don’t worry about Jed, the newbie Mod. He looks fierce but he is really a big green softy…well a kinda lumpy softy. It is from all those bruises from pokes with sticks…:e2poke:
Anyway, Welcome and make yourself at home. We tend to party a lot around here, hope you like to dance....

PS- if you are looking for fun places to start exploring these are my personal favorites:
