Which is best?

I am trying to keep up with 40 or 50 e-mails a week from my Japanese colleagues and ex-students. I cannot cope!

I understand that Facebook and Myspace will allow me to have a page my people can all find. I can write one short message a day and they can reply. I'd like to post lots of photos and add sound effects.

Which is the easier to use and would be easy for my low level English speaking students to use?

I've had a look round MySpace but can't seem to get into Facebook without signing up first.

Helpful suggestions welcome please, bearing in mind I'm a technophobe, and do this most unwillingly, knowing I'll have a terrible time getting used to the darned system!!!

You mean...

none of you use Facebook or Myspace?

You fibbers!

Come on now, help me out. Which would be easiest to use for my Japanese, limited-English friends?

I use both, and find Facebook easier to get around. While it's rather limited when it comes to customisation, I find it more reliable and easier to use.

I think Facebook would get my vote, but only because I've seen it in operation and it seems pretty easy to use.

I think for the use pdr described, I'd use a Live Journal Community.

A what?

Live Journal Community.

Howls in fury and flings hands heavenwards. Not more technology.

Please explain in words of one syllable, to a non-tech person who does not know anything, what that is.

I don't know how you folk can spend so much time on the internet doing all these things or how you find out.

Anyway someone please take pity and tell me what and where and how.

I *do* have a background in IT and I still can't flipping work out Livejournal. What on earth is it??

I'd go for Facebook because Myspace is a bit average.

NatJM is on a distinguished road
Considering you are freaking out at the idea of a livejournal community, I'd go with Facebook. Perhaps get a teenager in your family/among your friends to show you around if you are unsure about using it?

Excuse me but...

I asked what a Live journal is and how it works differently from Facebook and Myspace.

I can't compare it to the others when I don't know what it is.
