Ah. I was just thinking it might help. I think there are a few outstanding ones so people would know who has already been asked.

I was thinking about asking Shady, if no one had. Read Break last month.

Would people be down with the idea of a private Google group to handle the admin (scheduling, topic discussion, ect) side of the blog? The other option would be to do it through email. Teh advantage of the group might be that we can post files and have discussions boards.

When I used to do digiscrap design I had a Google group to keep my Creative Team updated on stuff and to have all my files in one place. It worked out really well I think you guys should do it that way!

Oops, I rep'd Cindy Pon--if that's who you're talking about--re: interviewing her already. I was PMing with Steph and she told me to take her bc she wouldn't have time. I was excited bc I chat with Cindy a lot on the Purgy thread and she lives in my city (plus I own and love her book!)! But I'm totally fine with interviewing someone else if you want to do her....

ETA: I think this is why we need some structure--bc otherwise, it's a little confusing! We could all be interviewing the same people, lol..... hey, it's weeklong Cindy Pon time at OPWFT!!

Okay so I created a Google Group and have an interview list on it. I put in all the ones that have already appeared on the blog but it would be great if someone could update it with the ones that have been asked but which haven't been done or haven't gone up.

If y'all rep me your email addresses, I can send you invites. That's where I'd also like to post the schedule.

Okay, I just posted my blog post! I also added another category while I was at it--Young Adult Books--just bc I hate seeing "uncategorized" for some reason.

Anyone want to edit my dream scene?

The LOTR crap is really bugging me. I can't help it!! That's how the scene played out. I'm afraid people will be like wtf is this? and then laugh at my stupidity.

I think someone uses an app that randomizes names, and then they buy the book and send it to the winner.

I is writing

I'm worried that my paranormal novel is sounding too contemp right now. Nothing paranormal happens till about nearly half way in. Is this ok?

Mmm...I think, at teh very least, there needs to be hints of paranormal stuff to come. Otherwise, it could be a little jolting. Then again, maybe it'll be a unique concept that agents will love--what do I know?

I think at one point in time, I had an Excel sheet in the inbox to keep track of interviews, but I doubt that it's been updated.

First attempt at query for CLR. I made it up just now.

Quote:
Dear Agent,

I would like for you to consider 'CREEK LAKE ROSE', a 55,000 word paranormal novel intended for the young adult audience.

Seventeen-year-old Amber Rose always thought her small town was the thing dull dreams were made of. Nothing ever happens in Creek Lake, and as a result, Amber spends most of her time worrying about remaining in the popular crowd at school. But then James McCall moves to town, and he's all Amber can think about despite his mysterious past and secretive nature.

When the two begin to date, Amber thinks life is perfect. Until her younger sister, Charlie, goes missing. Charlie was obsessed with an old gypsy family that came to Creek Lake with the carnival and have squatted in an abandoned house. Amber is positive they're the ones who took her sister. But then Charlie finally turns up, naked and covered in blood, with no memory of the past two days of her abduction.

Which is when Amber starts to notice a change in Charlie. She's...different. Less human almost. When Charlie begins to get violent and do things no normal person can do, Amber goes in search of answers. She starts with the gypsys and ends up finding the horrible truth in the most unlikeliest of places. Creek Lake has a dark history, and Amber's going to find out what it is the hard way.

This sounds AWESOME Chan!!!!

I stink at queries, we all know that, but...the only thing I suggest is maybe giving an example of how her sister is less human and violent, like something she does.

This is a great idea!
