Post Absolute Poetry, Vol. 1 - The Poets of Absolute Write
It's my great pleasure to announce the release of

Absolute Poetry, Vol. 1

This collection, from the poets of the Absolute Write Poetry Forum, contains a diverse and beautiful collection of original poems. I'm proud and humbled to be associated with these poets, and it's a joy to have such a marvelous collection of works to present to you.
The paperback edition is available here for US$11.99
The download version is available here for US$3.99
Proceeds from sales will be contributed to Absolute Write, in order to help keep our forum and our site alive, healthy, and vibrant.

The book is dedicated to one of our number - Writer???, aka Jeff. He was an AW Poetry stalwart, one of the prime movers behind this volume, and a fine man and friend. Sadly, he didn't live to see the work completed. I believe he'd have been delighted with it.

I hope you will be too.

(I posted this in our work room, but wanted it out here as well; it's a note to everyone who worked on the project):

We started this project better than two years ago. A large of number of people contributed poems, proofreading and advice. In rereading this thread, we all had our share of challenges to overcome to get "Absolute Poetry, Vol. 1" from idea to published form. We overcame all those challenges and published the book yesterday around 5:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

In between, one of the poets (Writer??? aka Jeff) died. The ambiguity of message boards and the want of privacy prevents most of us from knowing the details as to why. However, it IS important as you look back at this thread that he was involved and wanted this project to go off badly. I am sad and disappointed in myself that I could not do something more so that he could have at least had a copy of the book before he passed. Based on his remarks, seeing this project in its final form is something he would have wanted.

It important to know that we came together and made this happen. Whether you had one poem or five, the fact that you contributed is a step forward -- a step forward for you in getting yourself published in other mediums; a step forward for all of us as we wrap up this project; and, finally, a step forward for AW which can add this to its long list of "things AW makes better and great" list, including the bevy of published authors and happy people. And this time, we didn't ask what AW could do for us; we asked what we could do for AW and in the end, profits from the sale keep the AW server running.

In closing, do us a favor: put the link to the book in your signature blocks for a month. Slap the link on your Facebook walls and twitter feeds. Tell your Mom. Tell a friend. Tell someone who hates poetry that they have to read just one book this year -- and this is it. In any case, don't let two years of effort slip away. This is not instant gratification. This is a work over time, one that you can share with pride with members of this forum, friends, family and strangers alike. It's a great effort and very well done.

I placed my order on November 1. Five copies - overseas mailing charges. They shipped on November 4. A month later, no sign of the books.

I ordered William Haskins' book on the same day. It shipped on November 3, and it arrived over two weeks ago.

I ordered dobiwon's Walk With Purpose and the jst5150-driven AW Hollis Brown, Gunfighter anthology, on the 15th. They arrived a week ago.

I want my dang Absolute Poetry.
