Celebrating milestones

Last night, I reached the end of act one in my story, right around 36k words (but only 28k words if you use the 250-words per page rule; being from Alabama I naturally use small, simple words). So, it's time to take a breather, and start migrating the next few chapters from my notes over to the manuscript and expand on them a little. I'm a software engineer, and tend to write like I code -- with scenes (subroutines) broken into one or two sentences (stubs), then when they're all laid out the way I want, I go back and fill in to tie it all together.

Anyway, this is today's official "celebrating milestones" thread.

I'm celebrating that I got my hero out of the desert and into Las Vegas in one piece, and his child is still alive and unharmed.

What latest milestone are you celebrating?

I'm finally working on Chapter One of my WIP.

I think it's going to work now, which it didn't before. *knock on wood*

Then another revision, and maybe it will be good enough to start sending out. Second revisions are always easier than first ones.

So, yay to me. My first "real" novel done. Almost. *knock on wood*

I finished the draft of my non-fiction book and turned it in three months before deadline! Still reeling a bit, flexing my hands a lot. And suddenly a novel has popped into my head. Oh, dear...

Just finished the second draft of my novel. It's been about a year per draft, so, even though I know I've got another two or more drafts ahead of me, this feels pretty big. I'm taking time away from it until after Christmas vacation. It's hard to get out of my head right now, but I'm trying to distance myself from it. Been reading a lot, and finding myself surprised as I read and reflect on my own work. It feels kinda good, like what I've got isn't too bad in comparison.

Have passed the 100k word mark and still haven't tied it all together yet. But...I am in the middle of a thrilling climax.

I just passed 50K a week or so ago, and it felt gooooood. Maybe it's because I can see the finish line. I know where the story has to go and I am chomping at the bit to get to it and see the resolution played out.

Yesterday I got the first 50,000 words (or 30 Chapters) of my novel printed and bound to keep as a memento and symbol of finishing National Novel Writing Month.

My partner is reading from that copy and I'm trying to write more.

I've just written the longest thing I've ever done before. I'm up to 86k already. My previous books were 65k each.

I'm celebrating my word count, which is 2/3rds through the book, and I'm celebrating the fact that during NaNo I've taught myself to have BIC for hours at a time, my best being a 3k session even though I was chatting at the same time, and I've also had a 7k day last week, which is my best ever.

So basically I'm celebrating November as being the most productive month of my life so far. I won't finish my book this month, but that will be done by half way through December, and then I can edit all the way up to Christmas when I get my first official break.

I've just finished Chapter 32 of one of my two main WIPs, and I'm just about to start the climax. I've also almost hit 100 000 words, which I think makes it my longest piece of original fiction (I've written longer fanfics).

Now I just need to work out how to do this next bit... All I've worked out is that they have to meet some resistance people, convince them to start a riot, and get into the castle. Oh, and they're staying at The Crown Inn (considering he's technically the king, I'm not being subtle in the slightest).
