I stopped trying to correct those kinds of errors when I realized, much to my horror, that I had been misspelling "misspelled" all along.
I'd offer tips like, "Hey, you mispelled that word. The 'i' comes before the 'e', you idiot."

It's not that these words are being misspelled; in most of the examples they're being misused.

I believe that "eventhough" should be one word because that's how I type it.
