Our January blog chain isn't quite done yet, but that hardly seems a reason not to start planning the next. A small suggestion to keep things moving smoothly--a deadline by which to have your entry up. For example, instead of saying simply we have two days to post when our turn comes, let us say each participant has three (or four) days to post and then it becomes the turn of the person next in line?

How say you?

Okay here are the rules and participants:

THIS CHAIN'S TOPIC: Writing about Love

RULES:
You have 2 days to do your post. Please paste the direct link to your post (not your blog) in this forum when you have done it. If the person before you hasn't done their post for 2 days, then just go ahead and do yours. I am sure someone would have reminded them here. To know when it is your turn, just keep checking the forum, as you will know when people before you do their posts.

Please include links to all the participants' blogs in your post. If you are unsure, check our previous chains, or just ask here. Please also mention and link to the person before you and person after you in your post.

Please comments on as many posts as possible. The purpose of the blog chain is to encourage reading one another's blog, and it's nice to know when someone has read it.

I think it actually says that now, you have two days then the next person is free to go. Just most people seem reluctant to do so. I know I waited for my predecessor because they posted mentioning computer issues, so I gave them a few more days.

As for keeping the chain going ... that's the question of the day I think. :) The 2 day rule I think is good ... but someone (the starter of the chain??) needs to push them along. :)

In a world of my own
I am of the opinion that people should take responsibilty for their turn.

espeically because this isn't absolute law. If someone can't post when it's their turn, we have no problem moving their name down the list for later on. It's not like they are banned forever.

For that reason, I also prefer it when people actually do move on if the person before them hasn't posted for 2 days. It's not that you are being rude to them - because they can still post theirs - but by moving on, you are keeping the chain moving.

How about "Writing About Love" in honor of St. Valentine's Day? How you go about it, what problems you see and have, what doesn't work, etc.?

Something love/V-day related seems good, as well as something writing related.

Valentine related sounds good to me, but because I'm new to this, does that mean last month's subject is now closed?

Writing about love or the challenges you face when trying to make love authentic in your writing?

Tee hee, for some reason this amused the 5 year old in me: "trying to make love authentic" (which I first read as "trying to make love authenticly"

And in case it wasn't clear earlier, I'm in :) Writing About Love sounds more cheerful to me (well, mostly, since I was in an anti-dating/relationship phase for nearly a decade and still writing romances LOL)
