I did another 600 words today It felt really good too. Woot.

T.S Rex, 8000 words is very impressive. Out of curiousity, how long does that much take you?

It took about 7 hours, but I actually wrote a bulk of it during work with several 20 minute breaks in between bursts. I'm lucky to have a job that doesn't require a whole lot, so most of the time I read or write.

I didn't write today, but I did do some planning. Which was exciting for me because making decisions is definitely my weak point.

878 words this morning. Might jump on another round this afternoon. Hurdled to many distractions last week, so it felt like I feel after a nice physical workout.

I do my updates by total word count, not how much I've written in a day.

That being said, I hit 50,000 last night.

It's nice to stop in here and see a ton of progress updates. Seems like everyone is chugging right along.

I'm now only a few short chapters from the end of this round of edits.

600 words tonight. Nothing for the past two days, because of work and life.

I've read On Writing by Stephen King once through already, and now I'm re-reading the On Writing section. I find inspiration from reading him, not necessarily this book, but whenever I read his fiction, I tend to be more inspired to write, and I think I write better. Currently, I'm not reading a King book, and it's not really that good, and I don't get ideas about writing while I read it. I have a King book waiting after I trudge through this one, so that will be good.

In the chapters I read tonight in On Writing he discussed daily word goals. I know that's a "requirement" of this thread, but I've stayed away from it. I think now I will try to say that I'm going to set a goal of 500 words per day to get back to the true nature of this thread. Make sure you guys hold me to it!

LOL, we will.

I finished this round of edits and sent them back to my editor. Yay! I plan on getting back to my WIP Tuesday at the latest...I'm pretty solidly booked for the next two days.

2413 words over the past 2 days, for a current total of 10,182. It feels good to break 5 digits on the word count.

I wrote another 500 so far today. I'm hoping to get a bit more in, but I'm just about done my prep time at school (shh I shouldn't be on the message board).

Total count is 5000. My goal is to finish before summer vacation. Which means doing at least 500 a day for the rest of the school year.

I think I can do it

I LOVE King's On Writing! It's awesome. Glad it inspired you to have a daily word countr. The first time I read the book it inspired me to write every day when I'm working on a project, regardless of if it's my birthday, Christmas, vacation or whatever...

I managed 300 words today. Not my usual 5-600, but it'll do. I'm actually happy with myself because I have a ton of marking to do this week, plus lunch duty today, and track practice after school. It would have been really easy to say "I'm not going to bother." But I've decided writing is important, so I made sure I did it

ETA: I just snuck in another 300 words while my students were writing their good copies. That's 600 for the day
