So I'm going about the web and bumped into this.
http://text-to-speech-translator.paralink.com/speech.asp

If you already have something like this then appologies for reposting and boring you about the details of this link.

Its a program that says any and everything you type. I figured it would come in handy for new sci fi writers like myself who are having a hard time comming up alien names for people and planets. I would just make up a word and go with it. But using this thing I can make a up an "alien" name for a chracter or planet and hear how it sounds(for me mine, after a little tweaking, sounds awesome). In the midst of having fun I thought "what the hey" and decided to share the link with you. Like I said if you already have something like this then my appologies for waisting your time and boring you with the details. Then again many of you may already have a better way of doing things so I'll just go and quietly sit in the shadows once again.

Yes! I love that you put this up. I like to have my Mac read my work to me to see how the rhythm is, but it sounds like a robot. This will be a huge help, thank you.

The dude speaking is awesome. That is way too much fun to watch him reading my text.

Fun! Thank you! Hehe, I figured out why some people have problems with my fantasy MCs' names. They're supposed to sound vaguely Italian and, set to Italian, the program pronounces them correctly, but set to English, it mispronounces them the same way some readers do.

Very, very, very nice. Just bookmarked it for later use. I also copy-pasted a section of short story I am working on and it flows just as natural as when I read it out myself. Now I can see if something in my story sounds out of whack (especially when I'm staring at it going "what's wrong?!"). Thanks for the new tool!

That's quite good, although the disadvantage is that both English readers have American accents. Means that they don't necessarily read something the same way I or my family would. Especially with made up words, or, rather, countries. Still, great fun and definitely a resource I'll make use of.
