20 rejections in the past 30 days. I must be doing something right...or wrong?

Kind of a cool one today: Cutting Block Press said my sub was "well written" and invited me to submit something else.

I say right. You can't get accepted if you don't submit!

Just crickets here. I'm keeping an eye on my Strange Horizon's sub. They've been sending out rejections according to Duotrope, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Small victories are better than no victories, Milo. Sorry bout the R's, but congrats on the encouragement.

4-day R from Fantasy. Just long enough to think maybe I had a shot. Oh well!

This one's a poem, so that limits the options. I'll have to go back to the lists & see what else is out there.

Aww, Suzanne, that stinks. On to the next, right?

)-: Speaking for myself as a reader, I'd kinda like to see a bit more SF/F poetry out there, so definitely wishing you better luck with the next market.

Thanks, JC and Annie.

It's not my usual kind of story, so I'm a bit stumped about where to send it next.

This is good news! (Maybe not the best news but still good)

It means you are trying... and you can't win a lottery if you don't buy a ticket.

So congratulations on putting yourself out there.

Sorry for all the R's everyone. Aggy I just read your attempt at "Mythpunk" you went a different way than what I considered "Mythpunk" but the story was great. I'd work on tweaking that one, and subbing it asap. It's a great re-telling of an old myth, loved the modern twist. My August short story sort of counts as a rejection to me since it's now turning into a novel due to the feedback I've received hehe.

Internet been out for just about a month. 6 rejections... 4 out of the 6 were personal rejections, so I think I am getting better.

I'm oddly happy with it.

Bad news: Got a rejection from the "Help! Wanted' anthology. They previously contacted me to let me know that my story was short-listed, so I had high hopes there, but ended up receiving a form rejection today.

Good news: Wrote an entire SF flash story in one sitting. It's under 700 words but still, I pretty much never write *anything* in one sitting. Going to give it another look tonight and send off to beta readers. If anyone wants to read it also, just let me know and I'll send it your way.

Sorry, to hear that Alex. At least you were close!

I got my very first rejection (yay!) from Chizine, it's personal one too, which kinda makes me glad.

Thanks for allowing us to read [title]. I thought the writing was good, but found the story logic a bit confusing. As such, we will have to pass this time. Best of luck placing this elsewhere.
It's a backwards story (all the action happens upfront), but hoping to find a home for it.

32 days from the day I received confirmation (39 days since submission).

Thanks, defcon! I was just curious, because mine's been out 55 days but I received confirmation 32 days ago hehe. A personal rejection is awesome though. Baby steps
