I had to say that in the right accent for it to make sense.

And reminds me of this, which I find terribly funny, every time I see it.

Small children swearing is, absurdly, hilarious - I know I should be annoyed, but the cuteness factor outweighs any responsible reaction. This is why I should not have children of my own...

I love you guys.

1) children swearing is funny. My sisters-in-law hate me sometimes for the giggling that occurs at my nieces swearing. Can't help it!

2) Pentatonix rules! I found them via Kevin Olusola who is ruddy AMAZING. Not just his beat boxing, not just his cello-playing or the fact that he speaks Chinese or got a scholarship to Yale and came from nowhere out in the middle of Kentucky, but... All of it together. He's amazing.

3) new AtCT was awesomesauce!

I find it amusing that your dad confiscated them? Were they in high school or something?

Reminds me of the sex scene in the... fifth? Tommorow when the war began book. The first one between Ellie and Lee. Several of us had been reading the series in grade six (would have been 12/13), and someone reached the sex scene. Got passed around to every kid in the classroom, including those who had no idea what the rest of the series was about.

And I saw a couple of very good Aussie miniseries in the last few year, namely The Slap and Cloudstreet.
Can't speak for Cloudstreet, but The Slap was amazing. Can't believe I forgot it. Such an inventive way of making all your characters spiral apart.

As for Skippy - that was faux pass and deleted from the Australian consciousness by the time I was old enough to speak. It shall never be spoke of again.

The same, unfortunately, can't be said for Crocodile Dundee, because every yank who sets foot here brings it up

That's "Crocodile" Dundee outside Australia - the international version is changed a little bit, to remove some slang phrases such as "stickybeak" and to add the quote marks just in case people thought the film was about a reptile. First film pleasant enough, second film crap, didn't see the third one.

Paul Hogan was in the news when I visited Australia two years ago, because of his problems with the tax office.

I've had a love of Australian cinema going back thirty years - I do have to remind my fellow Brits sometimes that there's a lot more to it than Crocodile Dundee and Mad Max.

Yeah, these books were hard core poarn stories, and the students in question were fifteen years old, in the Bible Belt. Confiscations were inevitable. To his credit, though, my dad seldom confiscated permanently, and not because they were dirty. If he caught you reading them in class, you lost them, but got them back by the end of the week. His hangup was not that they were reading -- he encouraged that, even poarny stuff -- but that they were reading when they were supposed to be listening and participating in classwork.

Yeah, I remember the same sort of fuss when I was about fourteen, when Judy Blume came out with a YA book that had a hint of the blushable about it. VERY tame by modern standards, but then.....

Good morning cantinas

Anyone up for analysing a dream or are we all too busy elsewhere? I'll put it in here, ignore or comment as you wish.

I went shopping, when I came out of the store I called a cab. When it arrived the cab turned out to be from a cycling team, Garmin, in fact, the car was the exact same colours as the team strip shown in the pic in the article there. Then Ryder Hesydal got out and said 'I'm taking you home." He was still wearing his team strip.

That's all I remember. For some reason though, I'm thinking it's important that it was Ryder who was driving. Anything? Anyone?

I'm doing character analysis today, given the question above I should say, not my own, but one I invented.

Breakfast first.

So. I wanted to make Jalfrezi curry, but turns out australian supermarkets don't stock the curry paste specific to that. So I figured I would make the curry paste, then the curry.

Three hours later, the damn thing is finally on the boil. I now know why "stay at home wife" was actually a job before convenience foods came along. Would have taken *hours* to cook for a day.

Still got to wait 40 minutes before I can eat it *stares hungrily at pot*

At least you'll really appreciate it when you get to eat it. I hope it's good.

And yeah, maybe's my dream is a Tour de France thing (here after called TdF because writing that out every day for three weeks is just too much). I believe Australia has a good chance again this year.

You sure did. And despite the fact that I think Cadel Evans can be a miserable whiney git, I think he thoroughly deserved to win it. He should do well this year too.

Well this is a weird morning. Woke up to a buff, shirtless man standing outside my bedroom window... too bad it was only a window-cleaner...

Also apparently my parents have taken to standing in the living room watching the people who empty the wheelie bins out. They were just standing there in silence, totally spellbound by watching this happen.

Not a personal one. There's a local service that every now and again just goes round the local area cleaning windows for people. It's pretty sweet, I just wish they didn't hire attractive men and let them go shirtless. It's not good for me to have half-naked men outside my windows...

Ponders what Kricket did read it as.

Go back to sleep. If anyone complains, tell them you have a note from me.

I don't think Baby takes notes like that.

So today is our wedding anniversary but I am too damn tired to care. Right now I'm kind of glad we're broke and not doing anything special, otherwise I'd feel guilty for being in a bad mood.

I'm going to rant now, but I'll put it in white so y'all don't have to deal with it.

this fucking sucks. it just does.i can't do everything and i shouldn't even try. something has to give but everything i do is important. the obvious solution would be to give up my me time aka writing and/or excersising (f u spell check) but i can't do that and stay sane. yeah i guess i'd get more sleep, but sleep is becoming useless b/c my body and mind just can't relax enough to sleep more than a couple hours at a time. and lets be honest i hate leaving mr. k alone with the boys. he always does something wrong, like not change a diaper or not burp the baby and then i'm left to pick up the pieces. i am just so damn tired!

Ok, done now.

Well. I have no practical experience in either the taking care of babies business, or the husband business.

So, the best I can give:

Lots of them. Hope it gets better soon, and I hope someone around here can be more useful
