I've searched but not found anything on him. Not on the site Anotherrealm with preditors and editors and his own website doesn't seem to work.

Has anyone got info on him? I'll leave this link where he claims to have made million-dollar deals etc.,
http://www.writers.net/agents/155

so why isn't there any info on a agent like him?

Thanks guys and gals :)

http://www.agentresearch.com and http://www.agentquery.com/ don't seem to have heard of him. A Google search on "represented by Kevin Miller" doesn't provide anything useful. A search on "Kevin Miller" + "Literary agent" finds this Kevin Miller: http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/comments/kevin/blog.html

But that Kevin is in British Columbia, while the Kevin Miller you're asking about is in Cleveland, Ohio.

There's a Kevin Miller who's a guest at PhilCon this coming weekend in Philadelphia -- but he's on comic book panels. He might not be our guy.

There's a Kevin Miller in California: http://www.moviebytes.com/mb_profile.cfm?usernumber=43676 but he's looking for representation, so he's not our guy.

Nope, sorry. Can't find anything about this Kevin Miller.

An agent's job is to be visible. That gives me a bad feeling about Kevin Miller, Agent From Cleveland.

Ummm...yeah. If he'd really brokered a $1.75 million book deal "and many others", it should be possible to find him somewhere other than WritersNet. I suspect his nose is growing.

He is Kevin P Miller, and makes 'alternative medicine' type films.

His blog is at: http://kevinpmiller.blogspot.com/

As always, as a courtesy I've posted a note on his blog to give him a chance to defend himself.

Mac.

Writers Beware

First of all, to Mac, I appreciate you tracking me down (I think), to take part in this esteemed panel's questions about my existence and certainly the integrity of my 5-7 year old profile on what I believe was/is the WritersNet.

First, I did indeed negotiate (and close) a $1.76 million deal in 1998/99, AND followed with a $500,000 negotiated deal. I returned to my FIRST love, producing documentary films in 2000 for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the publishing industry was changing dramatically...and i did NOT like what i was seeing. Like TV, media consolidation quickly choked off the business, hording all of the imprints under one roof where there would be no intra-company competition. Also, I took up being a literary agent -- in part -- because my kids were very young and i did not want to travel around the globe while they were toddlers. I had a few friends who needed representation and I was determined to give them the opportunity for wealth and acknowledgment... and I did so.

As my kids grew, and as the industry changed, I decided that I would keep the door open to representing a VERY select few who inspired me to work on their behalf. In truth, I have tried repeatedly to change and even eliminate that profile...but could not access it because of old email addresses, forgotten passwords, etc. I even wrote WritersNet 5-6 times with no reply.

So while I appreciate Mac giving me an opportunity to "defend myself," some members of your blog shoulf proceed cautiously when they portray others as "Pinocchio." Sometimes things are not what they seem. . .even in the cynical world of writers and publishers.

Be well...and good luck to you all in 2006.

Kevin

This Literary agency represents U.S. published and unpublished authors-- and constructed one of the largest deals for a "health book" in 1998 for Dr. James Balch (the co-Author of "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" -- Avery Publishing Group). The idea for Dr. Balch's book "Ten Natural Remedies That Can Save Your Life" was created and promoted by Kevin Miller of Well TV and sold to US and International Publishers Doubleday Books after a fast and furious negotiation between a number of New York-based Publishers.

I happened upon this forum by chance. I was looking for Kevin Miller's new address because I was updating my resume, and this was the first link that popped up on Google.

I was one of Kevin's clients back in 1998/99, and though he did not end up selling my novel, he did get the manuscript read by a couple major houses. The whole time he represented me, he treaded me with respect. And, he never asked for a dime from me, despite the fact that he incurred some substantial expenses on my behalf.

So, I certainly can vouch for Kevin’s integrity.
