Writing Buddy, writing friend, ideas bouncer off-er

Hi everyone. I don't post much in here but I think I have lost my drive and would very much like to become a writing buddy to one (or a couple of) person/people. I am looking for a writing relationship, what I mean is not just a crit I give you something to read you give me something to read sort of thing, but more of a conversation where we talk about what we are writing, what we are thinking of writing, and maybe even how our days are going. Obviously critiques will be part of it.

I am looking for something long term (is it just me or does this whole thing sound like a dating ad?). To be honest I don't know many writer friends (other than the ones I've met here, ie. everyone. ((if you live in portland that would be super duper awesome, but not needed)) ) and I am looking for some.

I mostly write YA (SF, UF, Dystopian), but am thinking about going into adult romance.

You can let me know here, or in PM what your interests are and what you are looking for. Thanks everyone!!!! (I really like smileys)

I'd give it a go.. I've just started writing (Only first chapter so not too in-depth) a sort of... YA Supernatural story about how Demon's run the city of London (featuring otherworldly creatures as well). Not sure if that's your cup-of-tea. Obviously I'm not from Portland (although I would LOVE to go there one day). I've never had anything published, but I have completed short story and a first draft of a novel... not sure if that's what you want to hear. *is new at this*
PM if you're interested in partnering up (I like smileys too)

Hi! I sort of feel like I'm in the same boat. I have lots of good ideas and start stories and then I lose motivation due to lack of support. Also, I don't really have any writing friends yet (why I just joined this site). I'm currently working on an adult romance and am a huge YA reader so I think we might mesh well let me know if you're interested!

These stories sound so familiar! I just finished a 55000 word YA that I am searching for betareaders for. Also....I really want writing friends! I'm keen on partnering with any of you! Support is so important and I just haven't been able to find it here!

Andra, this is probably a dumb question but what does m/m mean? I don't write YA, but I feel lonely too because it seems like everyone writes fantasy while I only write romance, or women's fiction.

To everyone here, I've gotten a ton of really great responses to a writing buddy, while I am still open, it looks like there is some matchmaking that can occur between you all.

well who couldn't use some good writing friends?

I write romance (mostly paranormal) and urban fantasy, as well as erotica.. and am looking for the same thing you are. A writing buddy to chat with and support/motivate each other as well as bounce ideas off of.

Judging from the number of views, a lot of people are looking for the same thing

You know, a thought just occurred. I'm not sure about everyone's schedules but if any of you have looked into the AW chatroom, that would be a great place to look for each other as well. Plus it has that edge of immediate gratification. If any of you ever see me on there I am usually just syd. Don't be a stranger!

Hello all. I'm new and in the same boat as I look for a critique partner/writing buddy. I'm a paranormal romance writer and have reached that point where I find I need a fresh set of eyes to go over my manuscript.

I don't believe my stories are erotica because I really suck at writing erotic scenes and try to avoid them as much as possible. I simply write romance with two male protagonists.
