The British Comics Database is growing. Or mutating. I'm not quite sure which, yet.

Yes, it crosses Cthulhu with Hello Kitty. And is about what you'd expect if Sanrio took on the Lovecraft mythos.

Ted, you should really charge more than that. It's all about perceived value. Or...something.

I don't care how cheap you are. A dollar lap dance sounds scary. Like...a dollar sushi. I'm not touchin that.

QFT.

Not that I've ever had a lap dance (where my understanding is you can't touch anyway), and it's been way, way too long since I've had sushi because all the places here have that suspiciously cheap look to them and while I could probably buy fresh in the upscale supermarket here it's considerably out of my way, but...

Ok, I've completely forgotten where I was going with this.

Yeah, a dollar is cheap for USDA Prime like myself, but it's only a hobby these days.

Damn it's hot and windy outside. It's supposed to get up to about 100 today. I had to finally put in my A/C, so now I'm sneezing like crazy. Nice.

there are days when I peek in here and wonder if I clicked on the humor threads instead of the horror threads.

and BTW a cheap and easy way to keep snakes (and most critters) away from garages, crawlspaces or anywhere is mothballs. I don't know if snakes can smell it, but I know most of their food avoids it. no food=no snakes

and I personally like snakes *has been known to pick them up and take them to someplace safe from crazy snakekilling relatives

Bah! That movie had too much cheese. There is a scene where you can tell they are just jumping up and down with tubes from a tractor tire around them.

Evening Hounds. My looong day was made longer by a little fire at work (nothing major, just an idiot who doesn't know the proper time to microwave popcorn). I'm glad to be home and am celebrating with a buffalo chicken pizza.

Maybe, if I can stop feeling all pissy and tired, I can even write tonight. Two of my short stories are one little edit away from being ready to sub (HOLY CRAP!) and it would be nice to get it all done tonight so I can start looking for victims this weekend.

I cannot stand the fact that some people do no know how to microwave a simple bag of popcorn. We have folks who do that where I work and it stinks the whole place up.

Exactly! You just read the instructions and towards the end you PAY ATTENTION! If all popping stops for a full 2 seconds you take it out- even if it pops after those 2 seconds. Risk of a fire is not worth an additional 5 pieces of popped corn.

There may be a short horror story somewhere in there.

Yeah, there is--it's called My Foot Up Somebody's Ass and the dialog consists of "You stupid motherf*****" and "next time, you'll follow directions and stop burning that crap!"

That was scary.

Because it was so, so, soooo bad. Like Michael Caine in Jaws 4 bad, only I don't know that Voight got a house out of it.

And then they made a sequel.

Also the karaoke. Is that at the same time as the lap dance??

(Although, to be honest, I would really not be surprised if the Japanese don't have some version of this already.)

When I lived in Korea, I was a block from a huge karaoke club. Over there, they call it Noribong (singing room). Karaoke means "empty band", I believe. Anyway, it doesn't matter what you call it, it sucks. So, this club would have their speakers outside and at 3 in the morning on some nights, it would be blaring all over.

It was horrible, awful drunken singing. I will never go to a karaoke club. Ever. And I tell all my friends that I will get violent if they try to get me to go.

Depends on their weaknesses and what really bugs them. Everybody has something and I usually find it quickly. Seriously, dragging somebody to karaoke is just plain rude. If you don't wanna go, then people shouldn't pressure you about it.

Huh. See, I think in Asia it's pretty different. And in our International District I think it's probably closer to that. But by me? The Karaoke bars are all a bunch of American Idol and Star Search wannabes.

You know, I love to sing. And I'd probably do Karaoke if it were acceptable to be trash-faced and suck at it. But everyone here is a step away from being professional. And it's kinda boring that way.

It was horrible, awful drunken singing. I will never go to a karaoke club. Ever. And I tell all my friends that I will get violent if they try to get me to go.
