Pubit?

If you only publish on Kindle you're leaving money lying on the table.

At B&N, I tend to max out at about $120 per month. Yes, Amazon's sales can be 10 times that, but it's better to be available everywhere you can. I distribute through Amazon KDP, B&N PubIt!, and Smashwords (which goes to iTunes, Kobo, Sony, etc.).

Agreed with James.

I receive most of my sales from Amazon; however, in the past couple of weeks, I've had four people contact me who received Nooks for Christmas and wanted to buy my e-books. Because of that exclusivity clause with Amazon KDP Select, they weren't available at B&N. Some people might say, "Well, that's only four people." I say, "That's four people." I won't be continuing with Amazon KDP Select when the 90 days are up.

I also got tired of the wait for Smashwords to review my most current release, so uploaded it to PubIt and it's live now. I have sent a message to Smashwords support regarding the issue that I fixed, but my dashboard still reads "need to be submitted" (which I already did). It seems to be stuck in limbo, and has been for almost a week. I still haven't heard back from Smashwords yet. I felt like I needed to circumvent the system on this one, since it's the first book in a romance trilogy. The second book should be available by the end of March. At the rate I was going with Smashwords, my second e-book would be available before the first!

One of my short stories has yet to sell five copies a month at Amazon, but it sells around 20 a month at B&N.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why that is.

I just put up the stories I've marked for self-pub everywhere I can.

I have two books exclusive to Amazon, and the rest are available for both Kindle and Nook. At first I wasn't publicizing the Nook versions, but I quickly realized I was making 40 percent of my sales at BN. Big surprise to me!

I look at it this way.

I don't own a Kindle and have no interest in owning a Kindle OR ordering books from Amazon.

If your book is only on Amazon, I most likely won't be buying it.

So, to maximize sales, wouldn't it make sense to put your book everywhere you can?
