Hello everyone:

Please enjoy my review of Rizzo's Daughter by Lou Manfredo.

Thanks,

Ethan

Rizzo’s Daughter opens with a meeting scheduled to take place between the Italian and the Russian mob bosses, to work out a few 'differences.' The murder of the Italian boss triggers most of the series of events in the book. What follows is a fast-paced tale of police workings to resolve this case and a few others.

Mr. Manfredo’s writing is captivating, taking you into a realistic world of cops and criminals. The Russian and Italian mobsters are alive, the cops are not just a badge and a gun, but as human as the 'civilians' they protect and serve, with even a greater amount of emotions, responsibilities and fears.

Rizzo’s Daughter is as much about Carol, Joe Rizzo’s youngest daughter first day with the force, as it is about Joe, his life, his relationship with his wife, his daily interactions with other cops and mobsters, his hopes and fears about his daughter. He pulls in favors to have Carol assigned to the seemingly easiest patrols, in the safest neighborhoods, with the best partner.

But no cop is ever safe.

A caged Joe is worse than a caged tiger. Unable to endure the pain and overcome his feelings for revenge, Joe decides to take the law into his own hands and administer justice Rizzo’s style. How far will Joe go? Will he bend the law to serve his own purposes? What is he willing to lose in order to see his revenge satisfied?
