Hi everyone,

Please enjoy my review of Capitol Murder by Phillip Margolin.

Thanks,

Ethan

What do terrorists, serial killers and perverted US Senators have in common? They’re all characters in Capitol Murder, the latest thriller of Phillip Margolin.

Capitol Murder opens with a scene in Karachi, Pakistan. We’re introduced to a terrorist plot on the American soil. The story then moves to the lives of private investigator Dana Cutler and attorney Bran Miller, the two main characters of this novel. Brad is working for Senator Jack Carson who has a soft spot for pretty women and is indiscriminate about contributions to his re-election. In chapter 2, we meet Clarence Little, a convinced serial killer on death row, who is quite the charmer and whose convictions may be overturned.

We feel that Mr. Margolin will find a way to connect all these seemingly unrelated threads. His writing is simple and efficient. The story moves at a very fact pace, from secluded cabins in Oregon to the Senate offices in Washington, D.C. to a safe house of the terrorist-wannabes.

The plot runs on two tracks: Dana investigating the unraveling career of Senator Carson and the brewing of a conspiracy to blow up a packed football stadium. The reader is always kept wondering about who’s pulling the strings of the never ending action. Even when you think you know something, you are in for a surprise twist.

Will Dana discover the truth about Senator Carson? How is he really involved in this plot? How will the authorities learn about the terrorists and who can they use to help them in dismantling this plot?
