I just got my May/June copy of Writer's Digest, which includes the 14th annual 101 Best Websites for Writers from this year's record setting 4,350 nominations from both WD readers and the writing community.

#1 website listed under the subcategory "Online Writing Communities" is ABSOLUTE WRITE.

Wooooot! Number One!!!! Yep.

Well. Duh.

I think Writer Digest choose AW as one of their tops picks each year, but it's wonderful to hear it's first this year. The thing I like about AW is that members who have experience in writing and/or publishing do not try and sugar coat things. MAC, Lisa, and all the moderators can be tough when need be, but they are fair and give people the benefit of the doubt before taking action. I also love the forum is well moderated.
