Adam, If I Stay and Where She Went.

Chracters I have slight crushes on:

Professor Lupin, from Harry Potter series.
Jane Austen's Colonel Brandon.
I'd marry them.
Totally swooned over Michael, especially his reaction a the end. He was really well written.

Oh, Tobias. I still get sad when I think about him. I spent 50+ books wishing I could just hug him. But Jake was totally it for me. I like the leader-types.

-Prince Char from Ella Enchanted. So sweet and realistic. And a prince!

-Peter from Chronicles of Narnia.

I guess those were my first literary loves.

I forget his name, but the prince from Eon/Eona. I've only read the first book, so I'm kinda guessing that he's going to become a proper love interest at some point, but he seems pretty rad so far.

Also, Rob from Misfit. I had him pegged as the LI when he first showed up, but he's so cool. I could hang with that kid. He made me laugh, and I was not at all surprised or disappointed when he and Jael finally got together. And quite impressed that he didn't change or get all broody or swoony when they started dating.

And lastly, from the male-MC/female-LI camp, Tate from The Replacement. Another very cool kid I could hang with.

I love Cameron Quick from Sweethearts.
Most of the guys in Sarah Dessen's books.
I'm still annoyed that Laurie and Jo didn't end up together.

She did it to piss off her fans. She wanted Jo to be like her, more of a spinster, and so purposely had them not end up together. There's a quote of her's in which Louisa May Alcott says I won't marry Jo off to Laurie for anything and something along the lines of women shouldn't feel like they have to be pressured into getting married or think that's the only option. I'm pretty sure, though not 100%, that the editor told her to add in Jo's husband because it was a bit too much for the 1860s.

So I kind of admire Louisa's choice to do that, but would have rather Jo ended up alone if the case was the editor told her to marry her off.

I think we are "first literary crush soulmates" because, well...except Jake, I loved Prince Char and Peter as a kid. But I stand firmly with Tobias.

I also have to add - it always annoyed me Louisa added in the Prof/Bhaer/Fredrick as LI for Jo in LW and LM because...CLEARLY! Laurie/Jo forever. But on a serious note, I agree - if she didn't want a LI interest for Jo, then by all means make her single. I know that the concept was new-ish at the time period but Louisa did it (ie she was a single lady - though she did have a few proposals in her life).

I don't tend to swoon over LIs, but I remember lusting over Kartik from the Gemma Doyle trilogy. As far as personality, though, he could have been a -little- less broody.

Prince Char from Ella Enchanted was wonderful. Everything I would want in a prince. He had a sense of humor that made him unafraid to laugh at himself but he was serious at all the right times as well. That's very important to me.

I'm sure this will earn me a few sideways glances, but one character that haunted me for a long time after I closed the book, was Cole from Maggie Stiefvater's Linger, and Forever. He was just so messed up, I couldn't help but care about him. My favorite scenes were the ones with him and Isabel.

No sideways glances from me. . .I loved Cole & Isabel just a bit more than Sam & Grace. In fact I wanted the series to be about C & I. Yes, I have no shame in admitting this

Oh, I know, he did spend an awful lot of time brooding. Apparently I like that in men (if my husband is any indication).

I mostly thought the romantic scenes with him were fantastic, and I was thrilled to see a non-white LI in YA fantasy.

Oh, Kartik. My sixteen year old heart loves you still. Though his ending p!ssed me 0ff. But what can you do. (Personally I thought the whole 3rd book was a mess.) I'm excited to see L!bba Bray go back to historical(ish) with her next book set in the 1920's - hopefully there will be some Kartik-equally-delicious LIs.

Po in Graceling.

St-Clair in Anna and the French Kiss.

I like a strong guy who isn't an arrogant jerk, which I feel can be tough to find in YA. And one of my LIs is a (reforming) arrogant jerk looking for redemption, so I'm not even following my own advice on that one.

I don't usually do literary crushes, but...

Lend from Paranormalcy
I'll third Prince Char from Ella Enchanted

And even though he's the MC, not the LI, Razo from River Secrets (also the rest of the series)

(B/c I assume the question is for favorite YA guys, not LIs?)
