Hi everyone:

Please enjoy my review of Powers of Arrest: A Cincinnati Casebook by Jon Talton.

Thanks,

Ethan

In Powers of Arrests, John Borders, the step-son of Detective Will Borders, discovers a gruesome murder scene of a female cop, and Will is assigned as the lead investigator. Two other female students are also found dead in Cincinnati, and they are students of Will’s friend, nurse-turned-teacher Cheryl Beth Wilson. Soon enough Will and Cheryl Beth are once again joined in their hunt for the apparently serial killer.

Mr. Talton’s writing is meticulous in his descriptions. His dialogue flows naturally and his storyline moves forward quite well. Unlike the common stereotype of the over-the-top detective, Will has as much pain in his life as the victims he’s trying to bring justice to. It makes him both human and an interesting character.

Another of Cheryl Beth students is arrested and he’s the main suspect of the police. But did he do it? If not, then who is behind these horrific crimes? What will Will and Cheryl Beth have to do to discover the truth? Are they ready for what the truth?
